The 2020 RNC Committee just announced that Republican National Convention will take place from August 24th through August 27th in Uptown Charlotte.

The announcement was made this morning during an official press conference;

The 2020 RNC dates were initially expected to be released last month, but the announcement was delayed due to Hurricane Florence.

The official selection of Charlotte as the host city came back in July, just 2 days after the Charlotte City Council narrowly voted 6-5 to allow the RNC into our city.

After eliminating the potential host cities of Dallas, Nashville, and Milwaukee, the RNC’s two final choices were between Las Vegas and Charlotte.

The committee cited Charlotte’s abundant hotel access, proximity to a major airport, and our proven political convention track record as deciding factors in selecting the Queen City.

What do you think about the RNC coming to Charlotte in 2020?
