Mayor Roberts recently joined Charlotte’s Arts and Science Counsel (ASC) in dedicating the neighborhood-wide “Now Is Fireworks” display that has been installed throughout the Elizabeth community.

Charlotte Stories had the privilege of interviewing the mayor about Charlotte’s new art initiatives;

“Now is Fireworks,” a public artwork that leads residents and visitors through Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood, with a variety of paintings, sculptures, poems, and visual displays.

The artwork is a result of the Neighborhoods in Creative pARTnership initiative launched in 2013 by the City of Charlotte, the Public Art Commission and ASC to bring more neighborhood-based public art to the city.
