Yesterday afternoon, leaders with the Charlotte Regional Partnership finally released the details about what was in Charlotte’s bid to bring Amazon’s $5 billion HQ2 to our city…kind of.

They weren’t willing to say how much they offered in financial incentives, or exactly which sites were purposed, but they did say the bid included a total of 21 proposed sites in various locations around Mecklenburg, York, Gaston, Cabarrus, Iredell and Rowan counties.

It also contained personal letters from 40 leading organizations in Charlotte, including from Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan and our former BofA CEO Hugh McColl Jr.

Along with all the paperwork, they sent this 5-minute-long video featuring spoken word by former news anchor and Hornets co-host Jacinda Jacobs and artists Carlos Robson and Boris “Bluz” Rogers;

The bid was sent in a custom laser-engraved wooden box, built by Charlotte’s Musser and Co., bubble wrap provided by Charlotte’s Sealed Air, and photography provided by Charlotte’s own Kent Smith;

What are your thoughts on our bid for Amazon’s HQ2?
