The Charlotte Checkers Are Selling Tickets For $1 To Celebrate Their First Game In The 50s

In less than 2 weeks, the Charlotte Checkers will be rolling back the clock over 60 years to celebrate the first time professional hockey came to the queen city.

On Tuesday, January 16th, the Checkers will be holding a ’50’s Night’, during their first home game of the year against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

To celebrate the by-gone era, they are selling tickets for $1-$2, plus fees, hot dogs for $1 each, and soda and popcorn for $.50 each.

The January 16th game will feature photos and memories from when Charlotte Clippers hockey team played their first game at the Charlotte Coliseum (currently known as Bojangles’ Coliseum) back in 1956.
