The Charlotte-Area’s Biggest Christmas Light Display Is Officially On

The region’s largest Christmas light display officially turned on yesterday at the Charlotte Motor Speedway to kick off the holiday season.

The 8th annual Speedway Christmas features over 3,000,000 lights, the largest display in the Carolinas and one of the largest in the country. The display features thousands of individual items, icons, and characters that pulsate in sync to music along a 3.5-mile track;

The light display will now be open every night of the week up until Christmas (closed Christmas day).

The Charlotte Motor Speedway also has its own ‘Christmas Village’, including a petting zoo, Bethlehem village, and photos with Santa that will be open Thursday through Sunday after dark and every night on Christmas week (also closed Christmas day).

This year the track will also feature 2 back-to-back drive-in movie showings every weekend night starting at 6:30;
