In the first 6 months of 2017, Cabarrus County has already seen 1,477 new construction permits pulled, and a total value of $223.9 million. The county hasn’t seen numbers that high since before the ’07 recession.
The last three years saw somewhat of a plateau in growth (averaging about 1,200 permits for the first 6 months of each year), but this year, that plateau has already been shattered.
Single-family detached homes make up about half of this years new building permits – about 683 homes, valued at about $96 million.
Concord continues to lead the way in single-home construction with 234 permits, worth about $31.7 million for the first half of 2017.
This isn’t very surprising considering Concord is officially now the 11th largest City in North Carolina.
